Working Together Responding Faster Safeguarding Lives Everywhere
When life is at risk we can expect the ambulance services to arrive within 8 minutes of making a 999 call.

The purpose of Community Unity is to enable organisations to participate in a local response to a civil emergency.

Following a major incident the emergency services will come to our aid as quickly as they can but until they do we must be able to manage with whatever is available locally.

We have frequently witnessed passers-by helping the injured by “making do” with items of clothing.

It should not be necessary to "make do" when First Aid equipment is all around us!

Government, local authorities and the emergency services will provide the holistic and organised response to a civil emergency but aid is needed in the immediate aftermath.

Statute law requires organisations to have First Aid equipment and Community Unity is simply about making legislation work for the benefit of the local community.

By creating networks of identifiable First Aid resources we will be able to “bridge the gap” and better serve our communities and support the emergency services.
